Title: 6 feet apart
Course: Advanced Photography
Artist: Megan Taggart
Teacher: Mrs. Gollan
Subject Matter: How COVID-19 has impacted the world
Medium: Clothing, masks, hand sanitizer
Project Goal: How to turn a negative photo into something positive
Personal Review/Evaluation and Critique: Social distancing is hard for many, but by staying connected through phone calls and facetimes, we can keep eachother safe. My original statements aren't exactly what my photos turned out to be, but they were similar in a few ways. My essential worker photo turned out nothing like I thought, and one of my ideas wasn't even able to happen. I used photography to capture these because they are “in the moment.” It's not like these were created years after the pandemic, these were taken in the midst of it.
Elements of Art/Principles of Art- In my photos, I used color- I wanted to move away from the dark and gloomy pictures but instead, bring some light into these hard times. I also used value, a lot of photos carry a shadow with them, creating a feel of “realistic” moments. I took into consideration “space” as well, because we are social distancing after all.
