Title: Frosted Morning
Course: Advanced Photography
Artist: Megan Taggart
Teacher: Mrs. Gollan
Subject Matter: Landscape around my home and in Charlevoix, Michigan
Medium: Trees, sky, my dog, water, etc.
Project Goal: How to improve my "11 important" ways of Landscape Photography
Personal Review/Evaluation and Critique: for these photos, the weather really inspired me. you can see in each photo it looks like a frosted michigan late morning. i threw a charlevoix picture in there because it really represents depth of field and i thought it worked perfectly, its one of my favorite pictures! i used everything from depth of field (which i found to be the easiest to use in my location), foreground, and using the sky. i think i need to exercise my foreground photography a little more. i could improve on using the sky as well, but with having no clouds and having to work with the weather we are given, i think i did a fine job.
Elements of Art - Space, value, and line. Space was used a lot in the sky as well as depth of each photo. It was really brought to attention in the Charlevoix picture as well as the "use the sky" photo. Value was used with the sun. I had to use the sun as a technique for taking these photos. Lastly, line was most important in my Charlevoix picture because of the pier lines. It was also shown in the sky picture because the lines of the road are also visible.
Principles of Art- Balance and movement are both two opposites, but they were used throughout the project. Balance was used in the depth photo as well as the sky photo because everything seems to be so still and quiet. Movement was used in the foreground photo because of the dog running down the path, and it was used in the Charlevoix picture with the movement of people of the pier as well as the water.
