Title: A day on Lake Michigan
Course: Advanced Drawing and Painting
Artist: Megan Taggart
Teacher: Mr. Salyers
Subject Matter: A freighter sailing the Great Lakes and the Captain holding a map for navigation
Medium: Printer paper and Colored pencils
Project Goal: I learned how to make the rails on the freighter look like they are actually standing, helping me create perspective
Personal Review/Evaluation and Critique: I really liked this project because for being at home and being limited on my supplies it was easy to do, but still challenged me. I liked how we were able to be creative with it and get to use our imagination. I wanted to use perspective as a part of my project to show the lines, colors, and texture of the boat.
Elements of Art - Texture and shape were both used in this project because of the leading lines it has. Texture would be found in the crates on the boat, and shape would be found there as well. Value was very much used in the shading of the boat as well as creating some texture for the waves.
Principles of Art- Emphasis, movement, and proportion was used in this project also. The part that was emphasized was the map drawing. Movement was shown through the ways of the boat, and proportion was created with the lines and perspective of the project
