Title: A Walk Outside
Course: Advanced Photography
Artist: Megan Taggart
Teacher: Mrs. Gollan
Subject Matter: Outside: wood chips, rocks, leaves, etc.
Medium: Outside supplies/nature
Project Goal: You have to work with nature and its beauties, you can't stage it
Personal Review/Evaluation and Critique: This project was fun because for two days in a row we went out on a time limit and had to create something pretty much off the top of our heads. It was a little challenging at first because I didn't know how to use nature in a photo without using something materialistic, but I thought I did okay. My favorite photo would have to be either the berries or my rock stack just because of how the light is hitting the photo.
Elements of Art - Texture, color, and form were used in each of these photos. Starting with texture, the leaves were crunchy and breaking, so in the photos, it was easily noticeable. Color was a big factor because of the bright sun and the red berries. I thought color was very important in this project and I wanted to make that present. Last was form which was shown in how I stacked my rocks, or how I stood up the wood chips.
Principles of Art- Pattern and proportion were big in this project. Pattern was expressed through my leaves and how I placed them, as well as the rocks and where I chose to stack them. Proportion was very present in my leaves as well, but also in my wood chip stack; you can see I had to be accuse on my proportions so it would stay standing.
