Title: dirty hands, clean money
Course: advanced drawing and painting
Artist: megan taggart
Teacher: Mr. Salyers
Subject Matter: some tools a welder would use
Medium: colored pencil, paper
Project Goal: focus on small details
Personal Review/Evaluation and Critique: i liked this project but I had a hard time choosing what to pick. if i knew about this project in the beginning of the year, i might have planned my sketched out a little differently. with that being said, i chose my sketch from the week "complicated tools." i had to tweak it a little, changing some of the tools i drew, but in the end it turned out good.
Elements of Art - color, space, value. color was used in very specific areas. it was used on the handles to show that those are plyer cutters. it also was shown in the fire of the torch, and the red wire. space was used by filling any emptiness with welding tools. the helmet was the key emphasis. value was shown in the fire as well as some of the tools on the top half of the paper.
Principles of Art- movement and repetition. movement was used in the fire because when you look at it, you envision it moving. repetition was used because in any of the empty space i used tools to fill it. the tools may have been different, but it still was a cycle and repeated itself.
