Title: taggarts auto transport
Course: advanced drawing and painting
Artist: megan taggart
Teacher: Mr. Salyers
Subject Matter: my dads semi
Medium: colored pencils, paper
Project Goal: focus on the smaller details and color it to create depth
Personal Review/Evaluation and Critique: i really liked this choice project because I was able to draw what i wanted. at first i didn't know what i wanted to do, but after scrolling through my camera roll, this photo stood out to me. one thing i would change is the was i placed the cab window. it shouldn't be pointing down, but should be up to create more depth. i also tried to make the grill and steps look like they were criss crossed, and made the tank and horn appear round.
Elements of Art - shape, value, form. shape was used in many parts of this piece because some things were round, others were straight. value was used on the body of the truck as well as the trailer. i also tried to make bumpers and fenders slightly darker than the rest of the sliver. form was used in how i built the truck. i had to base off certain shapes, but alter them to create the actuality of them.
Principles of Art- balance and pattern. balance was used in the different shades of black that i used on the body. it also is the different shades of grey and silver that i used in certain areas. pattern was used while making the tank and other things round, as well as making the grill and steps have some sort of grind texture to it.
