Title: the expressions of jason
Course: advanced photo
Artist: megan taggart
Teacher: Mrs. Gollan
Subject Matter: my brother jason
Medium: faces
Project Goal: How to take portraits
Personal Review/Evaluation and Critique: This project forced me to learn how to pose people when taking portraits. My brother was more cooperative than usual for this project so it made it photo expression 10 times better than I imagined. The black and white filters on each expression really make the photo worthwhile. It brings out features that would be harder to see if the photo was in color.
Elements of Art - Value, form and space were all used. Value was used when I put the photos in black and white and my brothers features came out. Form was used because he had to have the form of whatever expression was given to him. Then space was used in the background to give a plain feature to the photo and focus on the model.
Principles of Art- Emphasis and rhythm were used in these photos. Emphasis was used on each facial expression. We had a plain background so viewers can really focus on the center of attention-the model, Jason. Rhythm was used because the model had to act out each expression, so I was constantly snapping photos to get that "in the moment" photograph.
