Title: This is Me!
Course: Drawing and Painting
Artist: Megan Taggart
Teacher: Mr. Saylers
Subject Matter: Self-Portrait
Medium: Pencil
Project Goal: Create an accurate drawing of myself
Personal Review/Evaluation and Critique: I feel that I could have drawn my eyes, body, and mouth better; to look like the original picture more. In this project I used line, value, form, balance and proportion. If I could redo this project, I would start by making my mouth better, and maybe even out my eyes/eyebrows more.
Elements of Art - Line, value, and form was used in this project. Line was used for detail in the hair, shading, eyes, etc. Value was used everywhere, I tried making lots of lights to darks in this project. Lastly, form. This was used because you had to form odd shapes of the nose, eyes, mouth, etc.
Principles of Art- Balance and Proportion was used in this project. These two are very similar because in a “sketch” type drawing project, you need to balance everything out and portion everything correctly. For example, you need to draw the lines across the face so you know where a certain portion of your eye goes or your mouth etc.
